o start the edit i opened the
sequence bin, named Silent Woods version 1, and double clicked the sequence to
open it up on the timeline window. Before i
looked through the footages to see which footage would be best to begin
with, i went into all the individual bins where it says name and right clicked
to put the footages in ascending chronological order to keep the edit process
simple.
To make things easier i also added a new video track by
using the shortcut (CTRL + Y ) which appears
as V2 on the timeline.
I went through the different bins that i had organised to
find a suitable clip to begin with. After finding one from the Entering Car
bin. I doubled clicked the footage which then appears in the source monitor on
the left hand side of the screen of the composer window. because the first clip
i wanted to use was 57:02 long using short cut keys I & O i marked in and
out points in the clip so that i could only use that specific part of the clip which
i had marked. Using the shortcut key V
on the keyboard to paste it into the timeline or alternatively dragging it onto
the timeline.
After pasting the clip into the
timeline i began making different cuts by marking IN and OUT points around the selected
material in the source window. Then
marking IN and OUT points on the timeline using the spice-in or overwrite key
to add the clips in depending on the cut i wanted to make.
