Fields & Frames Briefing & Film Experiments

W had our first meet with Vicky and where Intoduced to the unit and went through the unit assessment criteria:


- Technical procedures and the production practice's
- Reflective, innovative engagement with practice
- Professional working practices
- Effective research and production planning
- Awareness of audiences, contexts and networks
  this unit is about experimenting and using different production methods, and is aimed to explore  different forms.


Books we had looked at or where told to read that would help with Field and Frames, to give us a better insight into the project:
"Film Art Phenomena" & Expanded Cinema"

We discussed experimental and expanded cinema and the relation between the two:

- Content shaped by materials and technologies

- experiment to challenge the industrial and the commercial

- exposure/speed/focus/celluloid itself/ surface/lens/printing process

Films we had watched in relation to the project:

During the second part of the lesson we experimented with various film strips, and played around with scratching, marking, dipping in paint, cutting and splicing and other technique. The result was an experimental film roll that featured all our works .
