Maps and Journeys: Book Design

Presentation

Development

wanting to present this in a book form 'Constantine book design' I spoke to Rosie and she pointed me in the direction of Nick Turner a librarian who gave us a talk a on maps and journeys earlier on in the year. So having sent emails to get in contact with him. Email arranging to meet Nick below:

When I met with Nick i briefly explained my project to him. Nick told me to take the following books out that he thought would help me with my book making.

when looking through these books a couple of ideas came to mind and a few ideas caught my attention. I had brought the essentials needed to make a book i.e paper, board and even looked through the photos I had taken and chose a few and got them printed on to160 gsm paper A5 size as the book i wanted to make is A5, the reason i wanted A5 was because some of the photos that i had photographed were in jpeg format and the rest are in Raw so having an A5 size book with photos being of small scale meant the difference between the two formats would be unnoticeable.

converting the Raw files to pdf so its easier to print still being in high quality

saving the photos onto CD as the photos are in Raw format so putting it
on to a CD would be easier to print from as i got the photos Printed at Kall kwick
as they dont print straight off hard drives.

However having another tutorial with Rosie and showing these photos that I printed, i was told it will be better to have the book made and printed online as it will be professional and better looking then hand made, and that i needed to sort through the photos again and narrow it down to certain photos that would best tell the process of how a sculpture is made and to have them in chronological order.

some of the photos that I have taken and possibly tend to use as the final photos are blured so i need to figure out a way to fix this.
